Children's Halls (Jidokan)
Sumida City has 11 children's halls (one is part of a community center) which are open to elementary school students and junior high school students. Each hall has an educational program called the "School-Children's Club" specially designed to take care of first to third grade elementary school children whose family members, because of sickness, work or similar circumstances, cannot care for the child after school. Full-time instructors provide the care and guidance from the time children leave school until 5:00 p.m.
Operating Hours
The operating hours of these facilities are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of the Sakurabashi Community Center which closes at 7:00 p.m. They are closed on Sundays, national holidays (except May 5), and during the New Year holidays.
